Streaker's new fisherman runabout
Boats around the 5 metre mark represent the most keenly
contested segment of boating. Both fibreglass and aluminium boat
manufacturers fight tooth and nail to win the business of a
customer. It is this segment more than any other where
fibreglass and aluminium builders clash head to head.
Given this intense level of competition, it's no wonder then
that the 5.02m hull series from Melbourne's Streaker Boats is
one of the most successful and respected in Australia. To
survive in the pressure cooker environment, it simply has to be
a great hull. This 5.02 series has just been expanded with the
launch of the Streaker 5.02 Fisherman, a sporty open runabout.
While the tag 'Fisherman' denotes a specific user for whom the
boat is designed, the 5.02 Fisherman is actually a multi-purpose
family runabout that combines all the best features of the
Streaker 5.02 Runabout with an essential fishing pack of gear
added.
Specifically, the rig comes factory fitted with Lowrance
sounder, removable bait board and upholstered fish box..
Moreover the rig boasts all the fishability of a cuddy cab
thanks to the high bimini with front and side clears. At sea the
bimini gives the feel and protection of a full height cuddy cab.
Then at home, the bimini and rocket launchers fold down for easy
storage in a normal height garage.
In the cockpit anglers will appreciate the open, flat floor
space that delivers a boat load of uncluttered fishing space.
Dual pedestal bucket seats up front swivel through 360° so that
whether under way or at anchor, passengers can face either fore
or aft.
The split dash and walk-through windscreen provides exceptional
access to the bow sprit and anchor locker. When laying the
anchor out in a pitching sea, or retrieving it, boaters have
easy access virtually all the way to the apex of the bow.
The rear section of the cockpit also provides a fabulous set up
for anglers. The stern quarter seats can easily be removed to
get right into the back of the boat when landing fish. And of
course the removable seat pads provide comfortable seating for
when additional passengers are on board.
Across the aft end of the Streaker 5.02 Fisherman, there are
plenty of deck mounted rod holders, plus a factory supplied
elevated Bermuda bait board. With all this gear supplied in the
standard package, anglers need think of nothing more than what
bait to buy before they go fishing.
With an overall beam of 2.13m, the Streaker 5.02 Fisherman has
the width essential for stability at rest and while fishing.
Blended with the 17° deadrise of the hull, this rig is a proven
performer delivering a smooth, dry ride.

people both manufacture and sell the rig from their own retail
premises. This ensures that every boat is delivered exactly as
Leon and Paul Savage had intended the boat to be set up for
optimum performance.

Supplied on a single axle galvanised Dunbier trailer, the rig is
