Following a general trend that sees boat models becoming larger, the new 6100 Sirocco is a bigger boat in all the key categories. Compared to the 5700 Sirocco, the latest release is not only longer but offers a much deeper bow rider section. Rated to carry up to 7 adults the 6100 Sirocco does it with ease.
While retaining the unique Streaker design concept, the 6100 Sirocco is generous in the bow rider section as well as the rear cockpit. In a boat in this category, there can be no substitute for extra on-board space to carry passengers, not to mention the skis, tube, bags and everything else for a day on the water. Storage includes an underfloor esky, a huge underfloor ski locker and a large compartment within the rear lounge.
Make no mistake – this is a large boat. It has the beam and hull design to carry the big power outboards, both four stroke (max 150hp) and two stroke (max 200hp) variants. Streaker has taken the lead and packages the new 6100 Sirocco with the Yamaha 200hp VMAX outboard. This model outboard delivers all the very best attributes of power, light weight, low fuel consumption and low emissions.
With the VMAX 200 on the transom, the 6100 Sirocco gets up and running in a snap, while showing a clean wake at top speed.
With a 20⁰ deadrise fibreglass hull incorporating a flared bow, the Sirocco has a sharp entry and nicely proportioned bottom profile to deliver a smooth ride, even in a short windblown chop.
“Our 6100 Sirocco bow rider is as close as you can get to the ultimate family boat,” said designer, Leon Savage of Streaker Boats.
“A bow rider is going to be used in generally calm to choppy conditions, under clear sunny skies and with a boat load of people on board. This dictates the style and design of the 6100 Sirocco.”
The outcome is nothing short of a crisp and sharp package. The helm position is sporty and superbly appointed with the usual array of engine monitoring gauges, sound system console and an appropriate Lowrance sounder. The sports steering wheel and hydraulic steering system are both factory fitted standard equipment, which combine to make handling an absolute breeze.
Throughout the 6100 Sirocco the upholstery is wonderfully comfortable and plush. The helm and passenger bucket seats can spin around through 360⁰, while the rear lounge is broad enough to seat up to four adults.
The really good thing about the bow rider design of the 6100 Sirocco is that it is deep, with lots of freeboard to keep passengers in and the spray out.
Some of the best bow rider features are the not so obvious. There’s a generous anchor locker fitted into the apex of the bow. There are also generous sized storage compartments. When not needed, a clip on cover seals up the bow rider compartment to keep it clean and minimise the flow through of air down the middle of the boat.
When it comes to using the boat in a family setting, the 6100 Sirocco excels. There’s a great cockpit mounted picnic table which slots into a floor mounted spigot. When not needed the table stows neatly away on board.
Standard features on board the 6100 Sirocco include a combination stainless steel ski pole / bait board, boarding steps with boarding ladder, carpeted floor, bimini canopy and CD sound system. With the 184 litre sub floor fuel tank on board, there’s more than enough fuel for a weekend of skiing, cruising or fishing.
The Streaker 6100 Sirocco is completely factory rigged to the highest level of fit out.
